Rishi Sunak says he's resigning as Conservative leader - after the party suffered its worst general election result in history. After making a speech in Downing Street, he's meeting Britain's King Charles at Buckingham Palace to formally resign as prime minister - before Keir Starmer takes over this lunchtime.
Elsewhere, the Mayor of London says Labour's landslide victory in the UK general election will be a chance to “reset relations” with Ireland. Keir Starmer's party has won 412 seats, while the Conservatives have lost 250 MPs - their worse election result in modern history. Taoiseach Simon Harris already said this morning that he wants to send a message from Dublin to London that he would "match Keir Starmer's commitment and energy" to the peace process. Labour's Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan says the relationship between Ireland and the UK was somewhat fractured under the Conservative Party.
