A review is being carried out into how a car being held as evidence as part of a high profile abduction caught fire.
The incident was reported to have happened at a facility in Monaghan in June, where a number of cars being held for Gardai were burned following an electrical fault.
Included in that was one car that was part of an investigation into a local abduction case, which is currently before the Courts.
Sinn Fein's Justice Spokesperson Martin Kenny asked Minister Helen McEntee to give an absolute guarantee that it wouldn't happen again at any compound being used to hold Garda evidence.
The Minister for Justice said a review of the facility in question is being carried out.
