A retired Armagh priest is calling on members of the clergy to stand ‘side by side’ with Father PJ Hughes.
Father Gerard McGinnitty, a former Derrynoose priest, has come out in support of Father Hughes who has been continuing to perform mass despite Covid restrictions in Mullahoran in Cavan.
He has dubbed Father Hughes a ‘man of courage’, who is ‘answering a higher law’, and he feels the way faith is being looked at by the Government in Ireland is draconian.
Father McGinnitty feels people are being deprived of religion when they need it most and is urging all priests to show solidarity with Father Hughes at this time:
