The lack of trust in charity regulators has increased significantly since last year.
The finding was revealed in the Charities Regulator's Annual Report, which showed that there was an 87% increase of people double-checking charities' finances and activities.
The report also revealed that there are 236 registered charities in Monaghan and Cavan respectively.
The Charities Act 2024 is proposing an amendment to consolidate the existing legal framework for charities regulators and their statutory functions.
