A local Government TD has said questions remain over the killing of Shane O'Farrell, despite the publication of the scoping report.
Speaking in the Dáil, Deputy Brendan Smith said the scoping report does not answer how the person who killed Shane O'Farrell was at large on August 2nd, 2011.
Mr O'Farrell, aged 23, died in a hit-and-run incident in Co Monaghan involving a car driven by Zigimantas Gridziuska.
Deputy Smith says there is a fundamental question that the scoping report does not answer. That question is how the person who killed Shane was at large on that fatal day.
The Fianna Fail TD said that Shane was not responsible for his death and the least the O'Farrell family deserve is to get the truth.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound news, Deputy Smith said he wants the justice Minister and the Government to gets these important questions answered.
"I want to see the questions answered and so does every right-thinking person in the country want to see the questions answered," Deputy Smyth said, "Because God forbid that this happens to any o0ther individual or family.
"I don't know what's the best way to get the truth," he continued, "I'm just interested in getting questions answered and getting the truth.
"The Minister of Justice and government should re-think the response they gave last night in the Dáil and the Seanad that this is the final report etc.
"It's a scoping report but it's anything but a final report," the local TD said.
