Next Saturday, the 10th of September marks World Suicide Prevention Day.
SoSad Ireland has organised a number of events across Cavan and Monaghan to remember loved ones who died by suicide.
A 7k walk entitled 'Dawn Till Dusk' takes place nationally and everyone is invited to take part in their area and create awareness around the matter while participating.
Christine Wynne is the Co-ordinator of SoSad Cavan and she highlighted how the day provides an opportunity for people bereaved by suicide to come together and share.
She added that people in Cavan are being invited to a memory stone event in the town which will then be followed by a special Mass in the Cathedral.
"It is like every other given day - Easter Sunday, we eat an Easter Egg; Christmas morning we open presents," Christine continued.
"On World Suicide Prevention Day we take the opportunity to ask another person how they are feeling.
"It also gives everyone of us the chance to look at our own mental health and check in to see if we are doing okay."
