A Monaghan mother has praised medical staff at Temple Street Children's University Hospital in Dublin, following her son's operation.
Ten year old Daire Gorman was born with no arms and is missing his femur bone in both legs, making him a full-time wheelchair user.
Daire was due to receive urgent orthopaedic surgery, however the procedure was cancelled five times due to Covid pressures and no available beds.
Despite this, Daire finally got the call to have his surgery last week, on May 16th.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, his mum Shelley Gorman said its feels like a "huge weight" has been lifted off her families shoulders.
She added that Daire is back to his "bubbly-self" and is like a completely different child without the extra tension and pain to the delight of everyone.
