RehabCare says work is underway to improve the quality of service at its accommodation centre in Cavan.
A HIQA inspection last October found it non-compliant in four of the twelve regulations examined.
The Cavan Supported Accommodation provides a community-based residential service for up to seven adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
The health watchdog carried out a short-notice announced inspection.
It found that staffing arrangements were not always appropriate to meet the needs of residents.
It also revealed that the oversight and auditing of practices should be carried out to ensure residents received a safe and consistent service.
Further improvements were also required in monitoring and progressing residents’ goals.
The centre was substantially compliant in four other areas, and fully compliant in the remaining four.
A compliance plan outlined that issues have been rectified by the end of 2020.
In a statement to Northern Sound News, RehabCare said the plan was deemed acceptable by HIQA and “works is now underway to further improve the quality of service provision at the centre”.
