Plans for the regeneration of St Tiernach's Quarter in Clones have been presented.
The plans were revealed at a meeting of politicians and local stakeholders earlier this week.
In a post to social media, Monaghan GAA displayed the first renders of the upgraded St Tiernach's Quarter in Clones. The video created by architects displays a birds eye view and walk around of the plans for the stadium and surrounding area. Included in the plans are meeting rooms, an accessibility space with sensory room, and flexible and fixed community facilities. It also includes the diversification of use of the stadium. potentially opening it up to other sports and events. Streetscape works, public health enhancements, a community hub, and improved welfare facilities for spectators form a major part of the upgrades. The meeting on the plans took place earlier this week with local politicians, representatives from Ulster GAA, Clones GAA, Monaghan GAA, and Monaghan County Council attending.
According to a statement from Monaghan GAA, a Steering Work Group will now be set up including local and regional stakeholders to oversee the development of the project
