Monaghan County Council is recruiting part time fire fighters from across the county.
Retained positions are now open at Castleblayney, Monaghan town and Clones fire stations.
Open nights are being held to allow interested people to talk to crews and learn more about what it takes to be a firefighter.
The first open evening is at Castleblayney Fire Station at 7.30pm this evening, with events in Monaghan town and Clones next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Chief Fire Officer in Monaghan Dermot Brannigan says they hope the fire service can be more diverse and better reflect the community they serve.
He says it's a challenging but a rewarding job.
