There has been a 'snowball effect' when it comes to the sight of cans and bottles on the streets of Cavan Town.
That's the view of Paul Lynch from the local tidy towns group, who says this is down to the introduction of the re-turn scheme which is now seven months since its inception. He says the queues at the return centres shows this scheme is working with gaining from a small financial return.
Paul says this type of litter has reduced on our streets, but he would like to see something similar done with the likes of coffee cups and take away packaging. Cavan Tidy Towns Committee Secretary Paul Lynch.says we are going in the right direction.
