The re-opening of Bawnboy Garda Station is "under review", despite being included in a 2016 Programme for Government commitment.
Last week, Justice Minister Helen McEntee said she was advised by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris that the re-opening of Bawnboy Garda Station has "not been advanced as yet".
And in a statement to Northern Sound, a garda spokesperson said the re-opening is "under review" and being considered "in the context of available funding as provided to An Garda Siochána under the National Development Plan".
The 2016 Programme for Government contained a commitment to reopen six Garda Stations, including Bawnboy, on a pilot basis.
Bawnboy Station was closed as part of a cost-cutting move in 2013, and it's estimated that around €200,000 worth of works is needed to re-open the station.
