Public consultations will take place across Co Monaghan this month.

Monaghan County Council are seeking submissions from the public for a new Biodiversity Action Plan. The 4th National Biodiversity Action Plan requires all local authorities to have a Biodiversity Plan in place by the end of 2026. These are intended to provide a structured approach to conserving biodiversity locally. The public's views are being sought and a number of pre-draft consultation sessions will take place from the 15th to the 18th of July.

The first session takes place in Ballybay Library from 2pm to 4pm on the 15th, with a second session in Carrickmacross Library from 5pm to 7pm. Monaghan Library will host a session on Tuesday July 16th from 2pm to 4pm, with two more sessions in Clones Library on Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm, and Castleblayney from 5pm to 7pm. The final consultation will take place online on Thursday the 18th from 7pm to 8pm.
