A Cavan man that is organising a public gathering to discuss mental health issues says the county is in a 'crisis'.
A public meeting will take place in Virginia tomorrow evening to address concerns around mental health in the local community.
A presentation will be delivered by members from Pieta House. The event is being organised by local man Martin Tynan who used the occasion of his 50th birthday to raise almost €36,000 for Pieta house.
The public meeting, which takes place at the Riverfront Hotel at 8pm tomorrow, will also hear from Bailieborough Garda Superintendent Gordon Englishby, as well as local area representatives.
Martin says there is also plans that may see Pieta House operate counselling services in Virginia a few days per week. He said that he has suffered with depression for more than 30 years and times have certainly changed since then.
