With just one week left of the Covid-19 Spring Booster programme in Cavan-Monaghan, the HSE is encouraging eligible cohorts in the two counties to get their boosters.
The Spring boosters are still available to everyone aged 70 or older, and for those aged 5 years or older with a weak immune system.
Once the programme closes, those eligible are asked to avail of their booster from a participating GP or a pharmacy.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Dr Louise O'Connor, consultant in Public Health with the HSE, said it is important for everyone to remember that Covid-19 is still in circulation.
She added that the importance of vulnerable groups availing of booster vaccines cannot be understated.
"The fear of it has decreased and we've all gone back to living our normal lives but it's important to know that it's still in circulation and that those who need to be vaccinated now are those who are more vunerable to serious illness, so those aged 70 and older and those aged 5 and over with weak immune systems and also those people who live in nursing homes or care settings".
