Cavan County Council is holding a public consultation in relation to the development of a Town Centre First Masterplan for Bailieboro, on Tuesday the 30th May at 7.30pm in the Bailie Hotel. This initial consultation will form part of wider engagement with the local community to get their views on the future development of the town.
Bailieboro is one of 26 towns across the country that has received funding under the National Town Centre First policy to develop a Masterplan. It aims to map out future development; focus on tackling dereliction and vacant properties; and make the county's towns more attractive places to live, work, socialise and run a business in.
A team of consultants, led by Cooney Architects, have been commissioned by the local authority to work in collaboration with the local people, businesses, to shape the future development of the town.
Town Regeneration Officer with Cavan County Council, Caroline Brady, said the first phase of the public consultation presented local communities and local businesses with a prime opportunity to shape their plan for the town's future.
"As Town Regeneration Officer I am here to support the local community in Bailieboro to take action to further develop and regenerate their town. I would encourage people to engage and participate in the consultation process to have their views heard.
"By working together, we can ensure that Bailieboro thrives and can make the most of funding opportunities going forward," she added.
