A public consultation on the future of Lough Muckno in Castleblayney will take place this evening.
Work has been ongoing on the renovation of well-known buildings in the town over recent years and it's hoped work can continue on upgrading and improving facilities in the popular park.
Monaghan County Council and Fáilte Ireland have hired consultants to prepare a "visioning report" for the park and surrounding areas and feedback gathered this evening will feed into that process.
The park is in the ownership of the County Council but Hope Castle remains derelict after it was destroyed in an arson attack over a decade ago.
