A public consultation on the masterplan for the Abbeylands are of Cavan town takes place tonight.
€14 million was announced for the project in March, with work continuing on the plans.
Cavan County Council aims to turn the Abbeylands area into a new civic space.
The area is one of the most historic parts of the town but ongoing issues with dereliction and a fall in the number of people living in the area have seen it mooted for redevelopment.
The Council has already acquired some properties in the surrounding area but others remain in private or public ownership.
Under the plan it's hoped to increase the number of access points and create the first pedestrianised area in the town.
Public consultations have already been held in the early stages of the planning process.
This evening's event will allow people examine the draft masterplan which has been drawn up.
