Gardaí have issued a public appeal in relation to a number of local burglaries.
Gardai in Cavan are hoping that key information brought forward by members of the public will help in their continued investigations. Gardaí are investigating an attempted burglary which took place in the Drumgora area of Ballyjamesduff where on the 26th January at 3pm to the 27th of January at 1pm a house was broken into via the rear window.
According to Garda Lisa Stevens, The house was ransacked, however culprits went away empty handed. Gardaí are anxious to speak to anyone who may have observed strange vehicles or persons in the Drumgora area on these dates or the days leading up to them. In Kingscourt on the 25th of January between 7.15pm and 8.15pm criminals took advantage of a small window of opportunity and broke into a property at Lisagowen Kingscourt, where a rear bedroom was prized open and rooms were ransacked.
Culprits made off with a safe containing a sum of cash. Gardaí in Bailieborough want to hear from anyone in the Lisagown area who can recall suspicious vehicles or any activity that looked unusual in that area on the 25th of January. Elsewhere, Gardaí in Cavan are investigating a burglary that occurred in Drumgola Woods on the 26th on January between the hours of 6.30 and 9.30pm the home owner returned to find their rear patio door smashed open and their home ransacked and a significant amount of jewellery and cash was stolen from the property.
Gardaí would like to hear from anyone in the Maple Drive area of Drumgola Woods who noticed any suspicious in that area to get in touch.
