A small group of people held a protest outside St Mel's Cathedral in Longford yesterday evening.
The group said they were there in support of Fr PJ Hughes who had been warned by gardai last week about saying mass with parishioners present in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mullahoran in Co Cavan.
It's not clear if any of the protestors outside St Mel's this evening were from Longford or Cavan.
