The prosecution has finished calling evidence in the trial of a man accused of murdering Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
Detective Donohoe died after being shot at close range during an armed robbery in Co Louth seven years ago.
Aaron Brady denies the capital murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe, and he has also pleaded not guilty to a robbery charge.
The prosecution claims the 28 year old, from Crossmaglen, Co. Armagh, was the one who shot him during an armed robbery outside Lordship Credit Union on January 25th 2013.
His trial began in January, but was disrupted due to the pandemic.
A number of witnesses gave evidence via video link from the US. One man claimed he heard Aaron Brady say he had shot a Garda.
A young woman giving evidence from NYC told the jury that he said he was in fear of the police coming to his apartment because he shot a cop on Ireland.
She said he was “intoxicated, crying and going on a huge rant” when he said it.
The jury is due to return to court on Monday for the next stage of the trial.
