A property marking event is taking place this afternoon in Emyvale to deter cross-border property theft.
Monaghan Community Engagement Unit, in partnership with the Irish Farmers Association, Agri Kids, Ulster Farmers Union and the PSNI, is hosting the event for anyone who live close to the border.
It's taking place in the car park of McAnenly's Service Station, Moybridge, Emyvale, and will run between 12 and 4pm.
Marking property makes it less attractive to thieves in the first place and easier to identify if stolen.
Local gardaí add that it help deter criminals who are intent on using the Border to their advantage.
