A number of properties were searched today in counties Cavan and Dublin as part of a CAB investigation into the harassment of senior officials at Quinn Industrial Holdings.
The search operation was conducted as part of CAB’s investigation into events which began in January 2015, when senior officials of QIH - now rebranded as 'Mannock' - faced harassment.
Events escalated from 2016 onwards to include criminal damage, assault causing harm, false imprisonment, blackmail, and extortion.
Quinn executive Kevin Lunny was abducted and assaulted in September of last year.
The Criminal Assets Bureau, with the assistance of the Garda Emergency Response Unit, the Garda Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation Unit, and the Revenue Customs Dog Unit conducted the search operation.
A number of electronic devices and documentation relating to financial matters and property ownership were also seized.
The CAB investigation is focused on the assets of members of the Organised Criminal Group responsible for these crimes and today’s searches are described as a “significant development”.
