Gardaí from Carrickmacross and Monaghan Town alongside the armed Garda response unit have arrested four prolific travelling criminals.
On the 1st of March, an off duty Garda travelling home from Castleblayney noticed two individuals on foot at Broomfield, near Castleblayney.
Following his call Gardaí got into position and arrested the four individuals who were all believed to be from the North East.
Gardaí Confirmed to Northern Sound News that following somewhat of a pursuit, the four suspects were arrested with the assistance of the armed unit.
They were found to have multiple types of tools in their vehicle which Gardaí believe were intended to be used for burglaries and other theft purposes.
Gardaí confirmed that all four will now come before the courts in relation to this matter.
