PROJECT Belturbet is attempting to raise money for their Christmas lights this year to 'give back to the community'.
Ordinarily each year businesses in the town support the installation of the lights display.
However, the group has set up a Go Fund Me page months in advance to ensure they can have their usual display without putting financial pressure on businesses.
This plan is to extend this year's lights to the sensory garden at the Dreamscape Trail on Turbet Island.
Julie McAvinney, the secretary with PROJECT Belturbet says they hope that businesses will all be back open in time for the festive period and the community can come together to raise the money themselves this year.
She told Shannonside Northern Sound that they have started early to try and achieve their goal.
