The principal of a Monaghan town school says students deserve credit for how they've handled living with Covid-19.
Raymond McHugh from St Macartan's College said teachers and families should also be praised for how they've adapted to new protocols.

In recent days, a small number of positive Covid-19 cases had been identified at the school, however they aren't linked to school transmission and the HSE has ensured appropriate measures were taken.

A letter sent to parents said after a recent “possible Covid-19 exposure”, the health service is confident there’s no further risk identified.

Raymond McHugh said those attending his school, and other schools across Cavan and Monaghan have reacted well to being back in the classroom during unprecedented times, and it should be recognised.
