A woman has decribed "trolleys absolutely everywhere" in "horrific" conditions for staff and patients in Cavan General Hospital recently. The woman who wanted to be known only as "Pauline" wrote in to the Joe Finnegan Show in which she said "local politicians and the elite in Dáil Éireann should be left on trolleys for 48 hours".
She criticised the Government's spends on bike sheds, security huts and three times over budget in the national children's hospital. Pauline was visiting an elderly relative recently when she witnessed the horrible scenes. She said it was the second time in six months that she saw same set of circumstances.
But Pauline had nothing but praise for the "frazzled" staff at the Cavan hospital as they continued to care for people in "undignified" conditions (listen below):
