ESB has told Northern Sound that "almost all" customers in Cavan impacted by weather-related outages have had their power restored. Earlier, we reported that ESB had recorded 650 customers in Ballyconnell and 750 in Killeshandra were without electricity this morning after heavy snowfall overnight. A follower on the Northern Sound Facebook page reported outages in the Swanlibar area this morning also.
First thing this morning, an ESB spokesperson said "treacherous travelling conditions are posing a challenge in accessing fault sites". The latest update from the electricity supplier states power has been restored to most premises "following restoration work by ESB Networks crews".
"We are working towards restoring power to all customers over the course of the day," the spokesperson added. Customers are advised real-time updates are available on www.PowerCheck.ie.
