Poultry farmers and owners have learned lessons following the last outbreak of bird flu according to a local journalist.
Wild birds in Cavan and Monaghan are among 27 cases of the strain found in Ireland,in addition to cases in Leitrim.
Monaghan’s Niall Hurson,news correspondent with the Irish Farmers’ Journal, says despite the spread of H5N8 across 11 counties there are measure this time to prevent it in captive flocks.
