The Irish Postmasters' Union has called for the Government to make clear what supports it's going to put in place to safeguard post offices across the country.
They say post offices need a €17 million cash injection to prevent closures next year.
It follows a deal between postmasters and the Government in 2018 which saw some post offices close, with further state services to be offered through the remaining branches.
Eight branches across Cavan and Monaghan closed in early 2019 as part of the deal.
Threemilehouse postmaster Ciaran McEntee however has criticised the lack of action on offering more services, with the agreement to end in June of next year.
