A post mortem will take place at Navan Hospital in Co Meath, on the body of a man who was killed by a train yesterday.
The man in his 20s was struck by the railway carriage near Gormanston Station at around half 9 last night.
Medics also treated a second man in his 20s at the scene, and the train driver was treated for shock.
Fianna Fáil Councillor for Meath East Stephen McKee says it's shocking for everyone in the community.
"We have a growing population and a growing community in the area," he added.
"We have a lot of families who have moved recently into the area.
"But it is a tight knit community here in east Meath and the coastal area - and this makes it all the more shocking.
"As far as I know, this is not a suspicious incident."
