A post mortem examination is underway on the body of a man that was discovered in Clones on Saturday night last.
It’s believed the victim, named locally as Mykola Dernovi, suffered a sustained and vicious assault at a residence in the Diamond area of Clones. The body of Mr Dernovi was removed yesterday evening from the scene in Clones and was taken here to Our Lady' Hospital, Navan for a post mortem examination, We understand that post mortem is underway here and the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation. The Irish Independent are reporting that Gardaí are expected to launch a murder investigation into the death of 46-year-old Mykola Dernovi. It’s understood that he’s a Ukrainian native and had been living in Ireland.
At the moment Gardaí say they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding this discovery and no further details are available at this time
