A sculpture of Bailieboro man, Bobby Coote is set to be unveiled this weekend.
The 89 year popular man at one stage in his life managed to pilot a plane. Bobby's journey of learning to fly a plane was even made into an award winning documentary called 'The Man Who Wanted to Fly' back in 2018.
The portrait made in clay during a 3 month residency at the Townhall Arts Centre in Cavan is being unveiled tomorrow at Bailieboro Library at 3pm. Everybody is welcome to come along to the event. Marie Smith created the sculpture of Bobby.
The Cavan man has truly lived a unique life and only last year opened an art exhibition of his own paintings and woodworks in Bailieboro, Marie Smith who is behind the sculpture says this portrait will be in Cavan for generations to come.
