Pop-up test centre to open in Monaghan again this weekend

A pop-up Covid test centre is to open in Monaghan again this weekend.

The county has seen surging rates in recent weeks with its 14 day incidence rate now more than twice the national average.

Over 200 people attended the pop-up centre last weekend.

It will open again this Friday and Saturday from 10am to 6pm at St Joseph's Pastoral Centre in Monaghan town.

People do not need to book an appointment but the HSE says those who can, should.

People are asked to bring a valid photo ID and their mobile number to the centre.

It comes as the county's vaccination centre in Castleblayney is to open to walk-ins for the next 12 days.
