Pobal has recently celebrated 30 years of enhancing social inclusion in Monaghan. Celebrations took place earlier this week in the Íontas Theatre, Arts and Community Centre in Castleblayney. The focus of the day was on Pobal, government and communities in the Monaghan region working together to create an inclusive society.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Pobal CEO Anna Shakespeare said celebrating 30 years was a "unique opportunity" to showcase the remarkable work of the organisations, local groups, social enterprises, charities and early learning and care providers working alongside Pobal in the Monaghan region.
She added that Pobal makes a "signification difference" to individuals, children and families and that "now more than ever" the programmes are providing critical support and assistance to those in need of it most.
Anna continued; "As we celebrate this milestone, we’re hosting a number of events to highlight the progress we’ve made in the last decade towards achieving social inclusion.
"It is wonderful to meet the organisations and the services from across the Monaghan area and bring together, Pobal, Government, local groups and organisations and Early Learning and Care providers."
