Plans have been lodged for the upgrade of a wastewater treatment plant in Co Monaghan.
Uisce Éireann have applied to Monaghan County Council for upgrades to the Clones water treatment plant. The upgrades would consist of the demolition of redundant structures and the construction of upgrades to the existing forward feeding pump station. Also included is new inlets, new storm water holding drain, sludge blending/holding tank, sludge reed drying beds, access stairs and platform. The construction of a new kiosk enclosure to house an electrical control panel is also part of the application.
A decision on the issue is due in November
