Plans for new homes in Ballyhaise have been approved.
The development had originally been comprised of a mix of houses and apartments but this has been revised by An Bord Pleanála.
Cavan County Council granted permission in March for the development at Townparks in the Cavan village.
It would have seen the demolition of a bungalow and the construction of four two-storey two bedroom townhouses, two two-storey three bedroom townhouses and two one-bed apartments.
The plans were appealed by local residents who had raised concerns over the number of homes planned and issues around privacy with surrounding dwellings.
An Bord Pleanála has approved the plans, subject to major revision.
It says the planned apartments must be omitted and a two storey home can be provided in their place.
It has also attached a number of other conditions around landscaping, traffic management and the materials to be used.
