Lisdoonan National School in Monaghan has received news the Department of Education has approved plans for a major extension and refurbishment.
The Carrickmacross primary school can now press ahead with adding two new en-suite classrooms, a special education teaching room and two special education needs classrooms.
Education Minister Norma Foley made the announcement under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme yesterday evening. Local TD Niamh Smyth has welcomed the investment in another local rural school.
