There are plans to develop a teen hang-out at the popular Ballybay Town Park. Following on from the success of the visionary manmade Ballybay Beach and new boat house, the Town Team and Ballybay-Clones Municipal District are looking at providing a dedicated space for their teenagers,
Councillor Sean Gilliland explained the hang-out would have WiFi and be partially roofed over. The space is designed to be somewhere for kids aged in their mid-teens from Ballybay and the environs to congregate and hang-out together.
The first stage is to secure funding for the community-spirited idea: ""we're going ahead now to apply for funding for a teen hang-out at one side of the park where teenagers and young people can congregate," Cllr Gilliland told Northern Sound, "There'll be WiFi, a roofed area, seating area for them just to hang out because we're very conscious 14, 15, 16-year-olds up to 18 years of age or whatever don't really have a hang-out themselves so, we're going to apply for funding for that in that area of the park so they have a hang-out area."
