Plans for 40 new homes in a Monaghan housing estate

There are plans for 40 new homes in a Monaghan housing estate.

Developers have applied for a mix of new houses and apartments at Drumbear on the Cootehill road.

Deancastle Developments Limited has applied for four three bedroom semi-detached houses as well as a number of new apartments and duplexes.

Included are two, three to four storey buildings which will include eight duplex two bedroom dwellings, eight "own door" units, 14 two bed apartments and six one bed apartments.

All would have dedicated, private balconies.

Also in the plans are works to include 52 car parking spaces, bin and bike storage and landscaping.

Monaghan County Council is expected to make a decision on the plans by the end of May.
