Plans for 12 new houses in Tydavnet in Monaghan have been
appealed to An Bord Pleanála.
PDES ltd had been granted permission, with a number of conditions, for 12
houses in the north Monaghan village.
It's planning the development at a site to the east of the local community
centre.
Monaghan Council approved the plans in February, however, the decision has
been appealed by the local Tidy Towns group.
In a lengthy submission to the local authority, the group said the number of
houses planned is "disproportionately large" when compared to the size of
Tydavnet.
It also said it is "not in keeping with the compact or concentric growth of
the village".
An Bord Pleanála is due to make a decision on the development by the end of
July.
