There are plans for a Business Hub in Clones.
Councillors yesterday heard about the plans at the site of the old cinema on Fermanagh Street.
If given the go ahead, the two storey building would be constructed at the well-known site in Clones town.
Councillors yesterday heard up to 30 people could be accommodated in the building, which will house hot-desking and other business facilities.
While a Part 8 planning application is expected to be lodged with the County Council in the next two weeks, no funding for building works has been allocated.
The meeting heard hopes an application could be made under the Rural Regeneration Scheme later this year, with an estimated cost of €1.6 million.
The plans were welcomed by Councillors with MD Cathaoirleach Seamus Coyle saying it was great to see work taking place to replace an 'eyesore' in the town and Councillor Pat Treanor said he hoped the facility would help Clones to 'get ahead'.
