Plans for 12 new houses in Cavan town have been appealed to An Bord Pleanála.
A decision on the houses, planned for Farnham Road, will be made this summer.
Vogue Homes received planning permission for the development in early January. Cavan County Council approved the plans subject to 23 conditions.
The plans include a two storey terraced block containing four three-bedroom and four two-bedroom units, as well as a three storey block containing three one-bed apartments.
There is also provision for a three-bedroom semi-detached dwelling.
The development has been appealed to An Bord Pleanála by Sheelin and McCabe Planning Services Ltd from Mountnugent.
In a submission to Cavan County Council they said traffic generated by the development would be hazardous to existing road users.
They also said "the development is contrary to proper balanced development when taken in conjunction with existing and proposed residential development in the immediate area".
