Cavan County Council has sought part 8 planning for a new Community, Enterprise, and Tourism Hub on the site of the former Dinkin's Bakery on Main Street, Belturbet. If given the green light the plans would allow for the partial demolition and partial retention, refurbishment and extension works to the building on Main Street. The proposed development will consist of the demolition of rear extensions, refurbishment and upgrade works to original structure and new build extension to provide community and youth enterprise spaces and ancillary facilities including toilets, storage and new stairs.
A new build multi-purpose space is also part of these plans submitted this week. Site development works will include archway access from Main Street/Patrick Street, external hard and soft landscaping, lighting, bin storage, common and communal open areas, bicycle parking, and all associated site services above and below ground. An Appropriate Assessment Screening and Ecological Report, Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Report, Archaeological Impact Report and Drainage of the proposed development have been completed and are available for inspection with this application.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at Cavan-Belturbet Municipal District Office, Church Street, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan, and at the Planning Office, Johnston Central Library, Farnham Street, Cavan.
