Eir has been refused planning permission by Cavan County Council for the construction of a telecommunications mast in Ballyjamesduff.
The refusal that was made in recent days was for a 18m monopole which would have an overall height of 19.5m with antennas, dishes and associated equipment.
The location that the mast was planned for by Eircom Ltd is at the Eir Exchange on Granard Street in Ballyjamesduff.
The application submitted included permission for new ground level equipment cabinets, fencing, landscaping, the removal of two existing wooden support poles and all associated sites works.
County planners refused the applications along with two conditions of the refusal.
