Planning permission granted by Cavan County Council for a local animal rendering operation has been upheld by An Bord Pleanala.
Farragh Proteins were given the green light by county planners in October 2020 for the development at Legaland and Monnery Upper in Crossdoney.
Rendering is a process that converts waste animal tissue into stable andusable materials.
The original planning permission had 21 conditions attached.
The plans were upheld by An Bord Pleanala with 9 new conditions attached.
One of the conditions is that an odour management plan to include a monitoring programme must be in place.
Another one of the conditions attached to this development is that construction can only happen between the hours of 8am and 7pm Monday to Friday.
