Planning permission is being sought for alterations to several "tired and dated" retail units in Monaghan Town.
The works would apply to the front facades of units one to six on the Mall Road in Monaghan Town and is part of a joint application by the existing owners.
They say the upgrades would "recognise the value of the streetscape" which in turn "should bring a sense of optimism and prosperity to the area".
Alterations would include replacing the existing front windows and doors, erecting new signage and lighting to the front façade, and fixing new grey metal cladding to the front wall and a decision is expected by the 18th of February.
