Planning permission is being sought for 40 new homes in Mullagh, Co Cavan.
The plans submitted this week will allow for a large-scale expansion of a housing estate in Mullagh if given the green light.
Lyncon Properties Ltd want to build 40 new homes to form part of the town's 'Sliabh Rosann' housing development. The original construction received approval in November 2006 for the construction of 50 homes in the estate.
Plans submitted to Cavan County Council earlier this week outline plans to build a total of 20 two storey semi-detached houses alongside 20 four bedroom semi-detached properties. Further information as well as revised plans have also been submitted as part of its application and a decision on the plans is expected to be made by early April.
