St Macartans College Board of Management have applied to Monaghan County Council in recent days for alterations and extensions to the original school building.
The plans submitted would see the relocation of an existing Single-storey Temporary accommodation, provision of additional single-storey Temporary accommodation, the demolition of existing single-storey external stores & removal of existing storage area.
The purposed plans for the Monaghan Town school will also see the construction of a two-storey rear extension to the northern elevation of the existing school building to include provision for an ASD Facility, secure play area and sensory garden.
The alteration of an existing classroom & corridors to provide access to new accommodation and the construction of a single-storey extension to the western elevation of existing Theatre building are also purposed if they receive the green light from county planners.
The relocation of the existing car parking area together with the provision of additional spaces are also a part of the plans submitted this week.
Monaghan County Council will decide on this application by mid-July.
