Planning permission has been granted for the construction of a 125 metre wind turbine in Co Cavan.
The works, by Natural Forces Renewable Energy in Tullyhaw, Snugborough, will see the development of a 4.2 megawatt wind turbine with an overall tip height of up to 125 metres.
This will include the construction of a hard standing and assembly area, provision of a site entrance and access track within the site, and an on-site 20 kilovolt substation and underground electrical cable.
It has a proposed lifespan of 30 years and will be constructed over a period of six to eight months.
The wind turbine will be located just over 400 metres northwest of the existing Snugborough windfarm, which has nine turbines.
